Kalimpong gears up to welcome Mamata
Kalimpong, 23 May:
West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, is scheduled to visit Kalimpong on her second official tour from 28 May to 01 June.
This will be her first visit since Kalimpong was declared a district on 14 Feb, 2017.
Meanwhile, Member of Parliament [Rajya Sabha], Shanta Chettri, who is also the District Coordinator of Trinamool Congress (TMC) has also arrived in Kalimpong.
She chaired a party meeting at Taekwondo Hall near Kalimpong District Library along with other party leaders from different parts of the district to organize and plan the CM’s five-day visit to Kalimpong.
“We will be welcoming her all the way from Bagdogra Airport with a huge gathering and drive up to Kalimpong” said Chettri.
President, Gorkha Janamukti Yuwa Morcha, Bidur Rai also said that the morcha will also welcome Ms Banerjee .
On 29 May, the CM will attend a programme of all Development Boards at Ronaldshay Park.
She will also attend the first Administrative Meeting on 30 May ether at Dr. Graham’s Homes or at Kalimpong Science Centre.
Meanwhile, the Public Works Department is in a hurry to patch over potholes in the road to Deolo where she will be staying, and starting tomorrow, the construction of the stage for the programme of different development boards will begin, inform Board members.
