After the successful run of the first season of ‘Sikkim’s Dancing Icon’ in 2017, the much-appreciated dance contest is back with its second season.
The first round of auditions was held in Gangtok on 21 Apr where 81 contestants were shortlisted for the next round from an impressive 122 hopefuls.
Continuing with its hunt for dancers, V-Matrix Dance Academy, Singtam in collaboration with CID Academy, Ranipool have announced the second round of auditions to be held in Singtam on 29 May.
The auditions will be held in Singtam Nagar Panchayat from 10 a.m. onwards.
The first edition of Sikkim’s Dancing Icon featured dancers from Sikkim only. However, this time the organizers have decided to invite dancers from Darjeeling, Kalimpong and Siliguri as well.
After the auditions are done, the selected contestants will compete in the mega audition, the dates for which will be announced later.
The finale of the competition is likely to be held in September and will be judged by one of the country’s celebrated dancer, Dharmesh Yelande [Dance India Dance fame].
The winner of the Sikkim’s Dancing Icon will be awarded with a trophy and cash prize.
The competition is divided into junior and senior category.
