Paichan Foundation to take out a peace rally from Sombaria to Gangtok on 01 Jun

Gangtok, 30 May:

Paichan Foundation has reiterated its demand for provision of practical training to students of every government and private school for proper handling and hoisting of the national flag and to stop sale of national flags and to instead make them available free of cost at every corner of the country on Independence Day and Republic Day.

The organisation has now also raise the demand for provision of basic education on law in schools from classes IX to XII to help them to know their rights.

To press these demands, Paichan Foundation president, Mizoram Subba, has announced a peace rally on 01 Jun from Sombaria in West Sikkim to Gangtok. He will be joined by seven other members of the foundation.

Addressing a press conference here today, Mr Subba stressed that the Centre should make laws on these issues to pay full respect to the national flag. He informed that the foundation will document the rally along with their demands for presentation at the Prime Minister’s Office.

Mr Subba stated that if these demands are not fulfilled then he will sit on a hunger strike in Delhi.

Mr Subba had undertaken a hunger strike from 23 Mar to 04 Apr earlier this year at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi and had also submitted a memorandum of his two-point demand to the Prime Minister’s Office on 04 Apr.
