Mangan, 31 May:
“Construction of the 155 metre long Suspension Footbridge at Mantam Lake in Upper Dzongu will be completed as early as possible as the work is underway on a war-footing,” assured Sub Divisional Magistrate, Dzongu, Tshering Dorjee Bhutia, today.
He further added that once the suspension bridge is completed, the bridge will make access easier for the residents of the two cutoff Gram Panchayat Units - Tingvong and Sakyong-Pentong.
“Due to incessant rainfall over the past few days, the whole area was filled with water. The District Administration had to use a motor boat to ferry people across Mantam Lake. However, the water level decreased yesterday and motor boats cannot be used anymore. If weather permits, vehicles too shall start plying normally along the Mantam route to Tingvong and beyond,” the SDM stated.
