Plantation drive marks World Environment Day at Rani Khola walkway

Shantinagar Gaon Sudhar Samiti conducted a plantation drive along the Rani Khola walkway at Shantinagar in Singtam, East Sikkim to mark the World Environment Day, a press release informs.

Range Officer [Singtam Range], Manzil Kharel, Station Head Master [Singtam Police Station], Roshan Rai along with ward panchayat, Deepa Chettri and SGSS members participated in the drive.

Around 100 saplings were planted along the Rani Khola walkway after cleaning the area.

SGSS president, Krishna Chettri in his address talked about the importance of the day and urged the participants to be the caretaker of the saplings planted during the drive.

Mr Kharel demonstrated the correct way of planting a sapling and thanked SGSS for initiating the plantation drive.
