SFA C-Div commences with victories for Young Boys and Sasosians FC

Sikkim Football Association’s C-Division Football Tournament kicked off here at Paljor Stadium this afternoon. Young Boys Academy, Gyalshing. and Sasosians Football Club have started the league with victories. The inaugural day of the league had SFA president, Menla Ethenpa, as chief guest.

In the inaugural match today, Young Boys Academy started the league with an easy victory over JVC-Singtam which was thrashed 7-0.

Santosh Limboo scored four goals for Young Boys Academy in the 46th, 59th, 67th and 70th minutes while his teammates, Pritam Sunam [57th], Sushil Limboo [63rd] and Bishwa Darjee [89th], contributed a goal each for the team.

Likewise, Sasosians FC outplayed Sumin Football Club 2-0 in the second match of the day.

Pema Wangchuk in the 57th minute and Bishal Tamang in the 90th minute scored one goal each for Sasosians FC.

Twelve clubs have been registered this time in the State C-Division League.

The other participating teams are Chujachen Sports Academy, Ranipool Football Club, Sikkim Himalayan Sporting Club, Kumar Sporting Club, Nimtar Football Club, Sikkim Boys Football Club, Dzongri Football Club and Young Orchid.

On 07 Jun, the first match will be played between Ranipool FC and Sikkim Himalayan Sporting Club while Nimtar FC will take on Sikkim Boys FC in the next match.

As part of the inaugural event, SFA president also handed over certificates for Santosh Trophy 2018, which had arrived recently, to members of the State team.
