Win for Sikkimese girl at India Skills Regional Competitions '18

Gangtok, 06 Jun:

Sikkim’s Angilina Subba has won in the category of Health & Social care in the Northern Chapter of India Skills Regional Competitions 2018 which concluded here at Indira Gandhi Pratisthan in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh on 02 June.

The winners of the regional level skill competition will further participate in the World Skills India national level competitions leading to the World Skills Competition to be held at Kazan, Russia in 2019. The national skill competition will be held in July, 2018.

Daughter of Stephen Subba, Angilina hails from Singtam in East Sikkim and is pursuing Nursing at Apollo School of Nursing in Hyderabad.

It may be mentioned here, World Skills India is an initiative of the National Skill Development Corporation [NSDC] under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India. The NSDC, through its World Skills India initiative, has been leading the country’s participation at World Skills International competitions since 2011.

The key objectives of World Skills India are; to give platform where emerging professionals can display their workplace skills with utmost perfection, facilitate cooperation between government, industry and academia, create nationwide awareness, ownership and participation across various skills and help Indian youth attain world class standards of competence, excellence and productivity.
