Gangtok, 07 Jun [IPR]: Chief Secretary, AK Shrivastava, chaired a coordination meeting today to discuss the detailed agenda of the proposed visit of the Vice President of India, M Venkaiah Naidu, to Sikkim scheduled for 15-16 June.
After a brief introduction and briefing by the Chief Secretary, the minute to minute programme of the visit of the Vice President was discussed and concerned departments were directed to take action as per the requirements.
It was informed that the Vice President in his two-day visit will attend the convocation of ICFAI University, Sikkim, and will also attend an official programme at the National Research Centre for Orchids in Pakyong. The Vice President will be interacting with the Scientists of the Research Centre.
Mr Shrivastava called upon all the heads of departments and officials from various other agencies to work in proper coordination and cooperation to give out the best results. He iterated that all the preparations have to be done on war footing.
The meeting had the presence and participation of Additional Chief Secretary cum Home Secretary, SC Gupta, Director General of Police, SD Negi, Principal Secretaries, Secretaries and other senior officials of various departments of the State Government along with officials from the Army, Vice Chancellor of ICFAI University, Director of NRC, Pakyong, officials from the Airports Authority of India [Pakyong Airport], officials from National Highways Infrastructure Development Corporation [NHDICL], BSNL, and NIC.
