DA hiked from 139% o 142% for State Govt employees and pensioners

Finance, Revenue and Expenditure Department, in a circular issued today, has announced enhancement of Dearness Allowance [DA] to State Government employees and Dearness Relief to the State Government pensioners from the existing 139% to 142% with effect from 01 Jan, 2018.

The circular further informs that the enhanced DA rate will also be admissible to employees appointed on contract basis and work-charged establishment drawing pay in regular scales of pay in the State Government.

Additionally, the rate of DA admissible to the All India Service Officers drawing their pay in the pre-revised pay band/ grade pay as per the 6th Central Pay Commission [CPC] recommendation shall also be enhanced from the existing 139% to 142% wef 01 Jan, 2018.

The circular adds that DA for All India Service Officers drawing pay in the revised basic pay as recommendation of the 7th CPC shall meanwhile be enhanced from existing 05% to 07% wef from 01 Jan, 2018.

“The payment on account of DA/Relief involving fraction of 50 paisa and above may be rounded off to the next higher rupee and fraction of less than 50 paisa may be ignored,” the circular reads.
