BRTF welcomes 2nd batch of Kailash Mansarovar Yatris

Gangtok, 22 Jun:

The 758 Border Roads Task Force [BRTF] under Project Swastik organised a special programme in honour of Kailash Mansarovar Yatris and accorded a warm welcome to 45 yatris of the second batch of KMY at 8th Mile, JN Road in East Sikkim on 21 Jun.

The event had the presence of Commander, 758 BRTF, Colonel Inder Mohan Singh, Officer Commander, 129 RCC, Ramashray Sah, Officer Commanding, 1066 FW, Lieutenant Colonel PD Bhutia, and other officials.

Speaking on the occasion, Col Singh congratulated the yatris and welcomed them to Sikkim by offering traditional khadas. He also interacted with the yatris and assured all possible help and assistance till Nathula and wished all the yatris a successful journey ahead.

Physical health check-up of the yatris was also conducted during the programme.

On behalf of all the yatris, 64-year-old Lasriya Ratan Sharma from Shimla in Himachal Pradesh extended gratitude to the 758 BRTF for the grand welcome and hospitality.

“This is an unforgettable moment for all of us. We would love to visit Sikkim again and be a part of KMY via Nathula in the future as well,” Mr Sharma added.
