State Karate-Do Association constitutes its executive committee

Gangtok, 10 Jul:

Sikkim State Karate-Do Association [SSKDA] has constituted its new executive committee during the recently held annual general meeting of the association in Gangtok.

The new executive committee has been headed by Bijoy Gurung as president and has Bhim Bahadur Subba as working president, BS Chettri and Geeta Karki as vice-presidents, Bidhan Ballav Subba as general secretary cum chief technical director, Ganga Rai and Hem Kumari Rai as joint secretaries, Bishnu Kumar Rai as treasurer and Binam Gurung and Neemu Lepcha as publicity secretaries.

The meeting also unanimously appointed YK Megi as the chief patron of the association.

An SSKDA press release informed that the annual general meeting also discussed on various agendas to conduct the 16th edition of the State Karate-Do Championship from 24-26 Aug in Namchi among other future activities of the association.

The release informed that Sikkim has received the opportunity to host the prestigious 1st All India Karate Championship 2018 in Oct later this year in Gangtok. It is informed that the meeting also discussed on related issues to conduct the championship in a successful and grand manner.
