2-day Assembly Session concludes, 3 Bills passed

Three bills introduced on the first day of the Assembly Session on 11 Jul have been passed today on the final day of the two-day long Seventh Session [Part III] of the Ninth Assembly of Sikkim Legislative Assembly.

The Sikkim Lokayukta [Amendment] Bill, which was introduced by the Minister for Law, Legal, Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Department, RB Subba, has been passed without any discussion.

Likewise, another bill the Vinayaka Missions Sikkim University [Amendment] Bill, which was also introduced by RB Subba, who is also the Minister-in-charge of Human Resource Development Department, has also been passed without any discussion.

The Sikkim Regulation of Transfer of Land [Second Amendment] Bill, which was introduced by Chief Minister Pawan Chamling, who is also the Minister-in-charge of Land Revenue & Disaster Management Department, has also been passed by the House after a discussion.

The First Supplementary Demands for Grants for the financial year 2018-19 was passed today. The Separate Demands for Grants was presented in the House by the Chief Minister who is also the Minister-in-Charge of Finance, Revenue and Expenditure Department, on the first day of the session on Wednesday.

During the Financial Business, Leader of the House, Pawan Chamling, also the Minister-in-Charge Finance, Revenue and Expenditure Department, moved the Demands for Excess Grants/Appropriation for the Expenditure of the State Government on 11 July, which was passed by the House.

Likewise, the Sikkim Appropriation Bill, Bill No. 15, was introduced by the Minister-in-Charge Finance, Revenue and Expenditure Department for the Demands for Excess Grants and Appropriation for the Financial Year 2011-12, which was passed by the House.

The Sikkim Appropriation Bill, Bill No. 15 of 2018 for the Demands for Excess Grants and Appropriation for the Financial Year 2011-12 was placed by the Minister-in-Charge Finance, Revenue and Expenditure Department, which was considered and passed by the House. He also introduced the Sikkim Appropriation Bill, Bill No. 16 of 2018 for the First Supplementary Demands for Grants for the Financial Year 2018-19, which was considered and passed by the House.

The CM also presented the Separate Audit Report on the Accounts of State Bank of Sikkim for the year ended 31st March, 2014, 2015 and 2016 in the House. Likewise, the Speaker KN Rai presented the Annual Report of Ecclesiastical Affairs Department, Government of Sikkim.
