North Eastern Development Finance Corporation Ltd. [NEDFi], in association with Food Security & Agriculture Department and Horticulture & Cash Crop Development Department, organized an awareness camp for all stakeholders on Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North Eastern Region [MOVCDNER], a scheme under the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, here today at Krishi Bhawan, a press release informs.
Around 38 farmer producers organizations [FPOs] from all districts of the State participated in the event.
A detailed presentation on various subsidy benefits under MOVCDNER scheme and the process to avail them was given by NEDFi Manager, Mr Sonowal.
The main objective of the scheme was to develop a commodity-specific organic value chain in the State, it is informed.
The presentation was followed by a one-to-one interaction session held between the FPOs registered under MOVCDNER and the officials from NEDFi and Sikkim Organic Mission regarding the process and conditions in availing the financial assistance along with the subsidies available for setting up of various post harvest infrastructure components under MOVCDNER scheme. The discussion was followed for availing of collateral-free loans under CGTMSE schemes.
The NEDFi officials also mentioned that being a premier development financial institution, it also provides financial assistance to micro, small, medium and large enterprises for setting up industrial, infrastructure and agri-allied projects in the North Eastern region of India.
The meeting was attended by government representatives - BK Rai [Director, Sikkim Organic Mission], SR Bhutia [Additional Director, SOM], AK Behera [Manager, SIDBI], DR Sharma [Deputy Director, MSME-DI], Reena Shrivastava [Additional General Manager, NERAMAC], Pakumani Das [AGM, NEDFi], Popy Sonowal [Manager, NEDFi] and NEDFi branch officials.
