ATMA-East conducts training on bee farming in Parakha


Gangtok, 12 Jul:

Agriculture Technology Management Agency [ATMA], East, conducted a daylong training on bee farming at Parakha Block in East Sikkim today in the presence of Gangep Ward Panchayat, Nim Tshering Bhutia, as chief guest and Panchayat president, Latuk Chochenpheri, KB Gurung, as guest of honour, a press release informs.

Deputy Project Director, ATMA, Rachana Gurung, highlighted the activities of ATMA and urged all to work hard and follow up on the initiatives taken up by the State Government in farming on a regular basis.

Likewise, Deputy Director, Horticulture, Bhanu Bhakta Sharma, stressed on working in collaboration with ATMA for better bee management.

He further assured to provide vegetable nurseries for SHGs and develop vegetable clusters.

Panchayat president, Latuk Chochenpheri, Mr Gurung, extended gratitude to ATMA for conducting the training and supporting the farmers of the area.

During the technical session of the programme, resource person Tika Maya Gurung shared her experience of working with ATMA and detailed the technical and theoretical aspects of bee farming.
