Footballer Karishma Rai in Team India for BRICS Games

Footballer Karishma Rai has been selected in Team India U-17 Women’s Football Team to represent Country in the forthcoming BRICS Games to be held in Johannesburg, South Africa, informs a press release from Sikkim Football Association [SFA].

She hails from Rabongla, South Sikkim, and was earlier shortlisted by AIFF to undergo a 15-day coaching camp at SAI, New Delhi. She will fly to Johannesburg, the capital of South Africa from New Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport on 14 July, the release mentions.

BRICS is the acronym for an association of five major emerging economies of the world viz. Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. Karishma will get an opportunity to play with the teams of these countries.

While speaking from Delhi after her selection, Karishma thanked SFA for giving her such a golden opportunity and assured to give hundred percent to bring laurels to Sikkim in particular and India in general.
