Press Club convenes AGM

Gangtok, July 19:

The Press Club of Sikkim held its Annual General Meeting at its office here today.

The meeting discussed the future plans of the PCS among which a permanent infrastructure for PCS was of prime importance. The Meeting also resolved to pursue the matter of pension for senior journalists of the State.

This is the first general meeting called by new executive body under the presidentship of Joseph Lepcha.

At the start, PCS treasurer, Babbo Tamang, presented the annual statement of accounts of the organization.

He updated the house on the Income, Expenditure, Bank Statement and Grants and Financial Assistance received by the PCS. There has been substantial support from different organizations, corporate houses and individuals, the treasurer said acknowledging all concerned for their support.

The meeting also discussed salary hike for its staff and other issues of the PCS.
