Senior footballer from Sikkim, AnjuTamang, has been selected to be a member of senior women’s Indian national football team for the COTIF Cup 2018 scheduled to be held at Valencia in Spain from 26 Jul to 09 Aug. At present, she is at Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education [LNIPE] in Gwalior attending a coaching camp from 08-24 Jul.
Likewise, another Sikkimese footballer, KarishmaRai, is at present representing the country in the second edition of the BRICS Games at Johannesburg in South Africa, a press release issued by Sikkim Football Association [SFA] informs.
Senior footballer, MsTamang while speaking from Gwalior expressed her happiness over her selection and has thanked SFA for extending all support.
President, SFA, MenlaEthenpa, has congratulated MsTamang and has expressed hopes that she will give her 100% to make the State and Country proud.
He further urged other Sikkimese girl footballers to look up to MsTamang and MsRai as inspirations and play the game of football seriously with full dedication.
