SDF holds co-ordination meet for North district in Mangan

Sikkim Democratic Front today held its coordination meeting with Pipons, Zilla/Gram Panchayats and Councillors of North district at ZillaBhawanin Mangan. The meeting was chaired by MP RajyaSabha, Hishey Lachungpa, in the presence of Deputy Speaker SLA cum DzonguMLA,SonamGyatsoLepcha, Forest Minister, TW Lepcha, Kabi-Lungtsok MLA, UgenNedup Bhutia, ZillaAdhyaksha, North, NamdeyLepcha, and other party functionaries.

General secretary, Administrative Affairs [HQ], DevGurung, delivered the message and direction of party president, PawanChamling, and highlighted the rules and responsibilities of party workers.

Likewise, general secretary, Publicity [North], Krishna Lepcha, urged party workers to work in coordination and stand strong for the party while Kabi-Lungtsok MLA, UgenNedup Bhutia, appealed to party supporters and officials to be vigilant.

Forest Minister, MrLepcha,suggested conducting membership drives and also appealed to all the beneficiaries to take the benefit of the start-up loan.

Highlighting on the issue of Land Revenue Order No. 1, he clarified, “We are not against Sherpa community but we donot want to dilute Revenue Order No.1.”

He further accused Sikkim Bhutia Lepcha Apex Committee [SIBLAC] of remaining silent when Sikkim KrantikariMorcha leader,KungaNima, raised the issue of diluting it in the Assembly.

Deputy Speaker, SLA, MrLepcha, stressed on maintaining discipline in the party and requested all to abide by the rules and norms of the party.

Member of Parliament,RajyaSabha, MrLachungpa, appealed to all the youth to come forward and work for the party.

“All the communities of the State need to work together for the betterment of Sikkim and the Sikkimese. Your contribution will speak for your dedication to the party,” he stated.

Reiterating the scheduled release of SKM president, PSTamang[Golay], on 10 Aug, the MP urged people to be vigilant and asked all to inform the Police or the administration immediately if the oppositions were found creating nuisance in the area.

During the meeting, Anil Lachenpa who has been nominated as vice president along with newly nominated party workers of North district was awarded nomination papers by MP, RajyaSabha, MrLachungpa.
