SP West counsels Sombaria SSS students on UPSC exams

Gangtok, 26 Jul:

Superintendent of Police, West, TenzingLodenLepcha,delivered a career counseling session on Union Public Service Commission [UPSC] exams at SombariaGovernment Senior SecondarySchool in West Sikkim on 25 Jul, a press release informs.

The counseling programme held under the banner of National Service Scheme unit of Sombaria SSS also had the presence of teachers and students of various schools of the district namely Woodstock High School, Sunrise Academy High School, Pratap International School and others.

Addressing the students, MrLepcha, briefed about his success story and his struggles and hard work before reaching the current position in his career today.

Stressing on the saying ‘Where there is a will, there is a way”, MrLepcha encouraged students to work towards achieving their goals with proper planning and added that through hard work and dedication, one can reach the peak of success.

He further said that today’s students are privileged and fortunate to have access to internet and mobile phones unlike the yesteryears. He advised pupils to make good use of these facilities for learning purposes and preparing for higher level exams.

“Students should download useful news apps like the Hindu, NDTV, etc., and keep themselves updated with latest news which will come in handy for competitive exams,” said MrLepcha.

He also extended gratitude to District Collector, North for inspiring him to appear for UPSC exams.

The SP, West later made a Power Point Presentation wherein he illustrated techniques that will be helpful in preparing for the UPSC exams and detailed on various aspects of the civil service exam including question pattern, aptitude tests, marks allocation, etc.

The event also featured an interactive session wherein students and teachers put forward their queries to MrLepcha.
