Eighth batch proceeds on KailashMansarovarYatra
Gangtok, 28 Jul:
The eighth batch of the ongoing KailashMansarovarYatra 2018 via Nathula left for their first acclimatization point from Gangtok on 27 July, yesterday.
A special briefing programme was organised by Sikkim Tourism Development Corporation [STDC] at a local hotel here in the capital before their dispatch wherein STDC and ITBP officials provided them with necessary information required during the yatra.
Senior Manager, STDC, TejpalPradhan, informed the yatrisabout the do’s and don’ts of the yatra while security-related issues and information were delved upon by ITBP officials.
The 8th batch of the KMY 2018 via Nathula includes 41 yatris and two Liaison Officer. They have been dispatched for their first acclimatization point locatedat 15th Mile and 17th Mile.The batch will cross the international border and will enter the Tibetan Autonomous Region [TAR] on 31 Jul, it is informed.
It may be mentioned here, the 5th KMY via Nathula batch has already completed the pilgrimage and have returned to their respective home States. The 6th and 7th batch will be completing their pilgrimage and arriving at Gangtok soon.
It is further informed that the 9th batch of KMY via Nathula iscompleting its official formalities in Delhi and will be arriving in Gangtok next week.
