Residential programme on Govtschemes for SC communityconcludes
Gangtok, 28 Jul [IPR]: A weeklong residential programme on Government’s policy and schemes for the welfare of the Scheduled Caste community organized by Biswakarma [Kami] KalyanSamity held at Paljor Stadium concluded today. The valedictory function was attended by Minister for Health Care, Human Services & Family Welfare and Information & Public Relations and Printings Departments,Arjun Kumar Ghatani.
Forty-six students from various schools participated in the programme wherein they were enlightened on various schemes including Chief Minister’s Start-up Scheme, Chief Minister’s Meritorious Scholarship Schemes, Dr BR Ambedkar Scholarship, Atrocities Act against SC community, Green Mission, Organic Farming, Policies and Schemes under Social Justice, Empowerment Welfare Department, Health and Tourism Departments.
Subjects like Art of Living, lifestyle with religion, power of mental health, self realisation, time management, personality development, Hindu culture and tradition, values of games and sports, planning and management of daily activities were also included in the training session.
MrGhatani, in his address, congratulated BKKS for organizing the programme aimed at informing and educating the entire SC community about policies and schemes implemented by the State Government under the leadership of Chief Minister PawanChamling.
He also underlined various schemes including Dr BR Ambedkar Scholarship Scheme and provision of free education upto college level.
“The newly initiated educational policy of the State Government is invaluable for uplifting people from SC community and all other underprivileged families,” he added.
He also mentioned about notable achievements made by some of the exemplary products of government schools and enlightened students on possibilities to embrace ambitious dreams through existing academic standards of Government schools in Sikkim.
The Ministeralso informed about infrastructural development carried out by the State Government for the SC community like the ongoing construction of SC Bhawan, SC Research Centre, etc.
Later, he handed over certificates to the participants of the residential programme.
During the weeklong programme, trainees participated in Yoga sessions organized every morning under the banner of Nava ChetnaSiveer. Plantation and cleanliness drive were also organized at the stadium premises.
