UCWSS executive body tenure extended to 5 years

An urgent meeting of the central executive committee of the United Christian Welfare Society of Sikkim [UCWSS] was held at its office under the chairmanship of its president, Elder PatrusGurung.
A UCWSS press release informs that former Secretary to the Government of Sikkim and UCWSS chief advisor, CP Dewan, who is also the head of the drafting committee of the constitution of the society, has introduced the copy of the amendment of the constitution during the meeting.
The meeting unanimously approved the proposal placed by CP Dewan which was seconded by Advisor UCWSS, Pastor RenzinoLepcha.
“Regarding the amendment of the constitution of the Society, some of the very important articles of the society were amended with one of the amendments being the tenure of the term of the office bearers of the society. From the previous three-year tenure of the UCWSS office bearer, the house has unanimously passed the extension of tenure to five years for the welfare of the Christian Churches in Sikkim,” the release reads.
It is informed that the progress report of the Land for Christian Community Centre was also introduced in the meeting. The meeting has also decided to observe the second Sunday of April as the annual UCWSS Prayer Day.
The meeting was attended by representatives from the West, South and East district branches of the society.
