DISHA North holds meet in Mangan

Mangan, 03 Aug:

District Development Coordination Monitoring Committee [DISHA],Northdistrict held a meeting today at ZillaBhawanin Mangan, North Sikkim. The meeting was presided over by MP RajyaSabha, Hishey Lachungpa, in the presence of Deputy Speaker SLA, SonamGyatsoLepcha, Forest Minister, TW Lepcha, Chairperson, SNT Division, PintsoNamgyalLepcha, Senior Superintendent of Police, North, KD Sangdarpa, district officials and Panchayats.

A brief note on the objective of the meeting was presented by the DC North. He highlighted on the action being taken on issues brought up in previous DISHA meetings. He also informed that the demand fora mortuary house at the district hospital will be forwarded to the Health Department. He further sought update and status of all the ongoing schemes and its progress in the district.

Additional DC, Development, KR Limboo, presented report on MGNREGA, CMRHM and REDRH houses.

Likewise, Divisional Engineer, PradhanMantri Gram SadakYojana [PMGSY], presented detailed report on PMGSY while Superintendent Engineer, Power Department, presented a report on DeenDayalUpadhyay Gram JyotiYojana [DDUGJY].

Similarly, District Medical Officer, North highlighted the performance of various health programmes in the district while representative of Human Resource Development Department presented the academic and human resources report under HRDD.

The meeting also had an interaction session wherein issues of health sector, power supply, quality education and roads were addressed by Panchayat members.

Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Speaker SLA stated that the implementation of departmental schemes will not succeed unless the engineers and officials are dedicated and responsible.

He also directed completion of CMRHM houses at the earliest.

“If there are any genuine cases left for the construction of houses, the Panchayatcan submit the list to the administration,” he added.

The MP RajyaSabha, in his address, urged officers to give a deadline for every work under proper monitoring. He also urged all the Panchayat members toavoid signing any completion paper without proper verification of the quality of the works. He further informed that officers who are transferred will not be given relieving order without NOC from concerned officer, Panchayat and area MLA.

Highlighting on the issue of BRO, the MP urged that the road from Seven Sisters to Thingchim Zero and RangRang to Mangan should be given priority and need to be repaired as early as possible.
