Sikkimese footballers to play in upcoming Goa Pro League

Five Sikkimese footballers along with one from Kalimpong are all set to play in the Goa Pro League 2018 being organised by Goa Football Association. The league will commence from Sept next month.
MobinRai, SonamZangpo Bhutia, UgenPintso Sherpa, OngTsheringLepcha [junior] and Bhaichung Bhutia are from Sikkim while Cho TsheringLepcha is from Kalimpong. These players will be representing FC Bardaz Goa for seven months as per their contract. They are expected to leave for Goa on 17 Aug and will be attending pre-season training with their club first.
Speaking to SummitTimes, 24-year-old MobinRai,who hails from Kewzing, South Sikkim, has recently played for Hyderabad FC for almost six months. He is a product of Sikkim Himalayan Gangtok Club.
Mobin has extended gratitude to the organisers for selecting him for the league.
“If we play well in this league then we might get chance to play in Malaysia as FC Bardaz Goa management also has a club there. I will give my best performance for the club,” he added.
He informed that reputed teams like Churchill Brothers, Dempo, Salgachor, FC Goa, etc are likely to participate in the said league.
Likewise, SonamZangpo  of ShotakBasti, East Sikkim has also expressed happiness over his selection for the league.
“This is our first big league. I hope to perform well to be spotted by big clubs through the league,” said Sonam.
Zangpo is a product of United Sikkim Football Club and has played for LangsingShillong Football Club and numerous other clubs of the nation.
UgenPintso Sherpa  hails from Soreng in West Sikkim and at present is playing for United Sikkim FC as its goal keeper for this season.
OngTsheringLepcha  is from GnonSangdong in Lower Dzongu and is a product of Sikkim Himalayan Gangtok Club while Bhaichung Bhutia  hails fromTathangchenand is also a product of Sikkim Himalayan Gangtok Club.
