SAATHI conducts offsite training for 10 Govt schools

Sikkim Against Addiction Towards Healthy India [SAATHI] conducted an offsite training camp for 100 students from 10 Government schools from 03-06 Aug at Indian Himalayan Centre for Adventure & Eco-Tourism [IHCAE] in Chemchey, South Sikkim.
The schools covered in the initiative are: Bojoghari GSSS, Deorali Girls GSSS, Namchi Girls GSSS, Namchi GSSS, Sir TNSSS, Tadong GSSS, Mangan GSSS, Chakung GSSS, Ravangla GSSS and Melli GSSS.
A SAATHI press release informs that students went through various motivational and technical sessions on substance abuse.
A session on the basics of counselling was taken by Pragyan Deep Dewan [Counselling Psychologist] while Manorath Dahal [Teacher Trained Coordinator, Rumtek GSSS] and CK Subba [Sub Inspector, Sikkim Police, Ravangla] took sessions on communication skills and legal aspects of drugs respectively.
Likewise, Udai C Rai from Serenity Home counselled the students on various consequences of drug addiction.
