SMIT all set for its campus recruitment season

Campus recruitment season of Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology [SMIT],Majhitar will be commencing from mid-August with multi-national companies likeMicrosoft, Amazon, Dell, Shell and Wells Fargo lining up to recruit young graduates.

In a press release issued by Sikkim Manipal University, SMIT Director, Professor [Dr]Ashis Sharma, has said, “It is heart-warming and a matter of pride for SMITunder SMU as these companies have very selectedinstitutions on their list. Visit of such companies not only boosts the morale of the students at SMIT in particular but the State in general. It has placedSMIT and Sikkim on the global tech map. The visibility of SMIT and Sikkim as a whole has bettered with associations of big corporate houses globally.”

The release mentions that SMIT is ranked 2nd in Top Private Colleges in East Zone and 41st in All India, India Today 2018 ranking. The institute boasts of a great placement record over the years. There has been more than 90% placement of the eligible candidates in the last 5years. Over 92% candidates of 2018 batch were placed in more than 30 companies that visited the campus. The highest salary package received was of INR 23 lakh per annum [approx] where some students bagged more than one job offer.

Other companies who have confirmed so far include Ixia [Keysight], Bosch, Wipro, Ericsson, Just Dial, LT Elevators, Asahi India Glasses, eConstruct, Talview and many more, the release adds.
