ATTC Bardang holds first Gram Sabha under UBA 2.0

Advanced Technical Training Centre [ATTC] in Bardang, East Sikkim hosted the first Gram Sabha on 15 Aug under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan [UBA] 2.0, a flagship programme of Ministry of Human Resource (HRDD) with the intention to enrich rural India.
A press release informs that under UBA,the institutions are selected in a challenge mode and ATTC is the only technical Institute and amongst the few institutes selected in the State of Sikkim. Under this programme, ATTC has adopted five villages namely Lower Bardang, Upper Bardang, 20th Mile, College Colony and BagheyKhola.
The programme was participated by various members of the said villages and members of NGO DivyajyotiSamitee - Lower Bardang along with Vice Principal, LochanAdhikari, UBA nodal officer, Paden Rinchen, NSS coordinator, SrijanaRai, and other distinguished members of the UBA Cell.
Various issues related to the villages like problems related to drinking water, waste management, renewable source of energy, and availability and improvement of basic amenities were discussed.
It may be mentioned here, UBA basically aims at improving human development and economic development of the villages. Institutes, through their faculty & students, will carry out surveys & studies in the adopted villages to assess the local problems and needs, work out the possibilities of leveraging the technological interventions and the need to improve the processes in the implementation of various Government schemes and also prepare workable action plans for the selected villages.
In-order to achieve it, the institute will be closely coordinating with the district administration, elected public representatives of Panchayat, villagers and other stake holders and will become a part of the process of development planning and implementation for a better and Unnat Bharat.
