Gangtok, 26 Aug:
Mr Sikkim, organized by GBT Entertainment, Sikkim Chronicle and The Accelerator, held its second day of auditions today with a marathon run of contestants vying for entry in the top 17 or 20.
Over 200 people participated in the two-day audition, a press release informs.
Contestants from across the four districts arrived in the capital at Hotel Denzong Shangrila to participate in the first of its kind event being held in the Himalayan state.
Judges for the event are journalist Nirmal Mangar, GBT-founder Tenzing Dadul Bhutia, model and entrepreneur Karishma Pradhan, Accelerator founder Pragya Satapathy, actor Sonam Barfungpa, and fashion designer Rinzing C Bhutia.
"We are excited to be part of such a grand event. The contestants are fantastic and beyond our expectations," said one of the judges, Karishma Pradhan.
Event head Yougan Tamang informs that due to the overwhelming response, on-the-spot registrations were also opened today for those interested.
Official grooming partner, Karma Unisex Salon and Spa, founder, Karma C Bhutia, has showered rich appreciation on all the contestants for actively taking part in auditions.
She added that such platforms will boost the glamour and entertainment industry in Sikkim.
Logistic partner, Stars of Hope (SOH), a volunteer group of Sikkim also the official logistics partner of the pageant, has actively partnered with the Mr Sikkim Manhunt.
SOH's Bikash Thapa stated that such men's pageant is representative of a new Sikkim which is young, dynamic and raring to go and reach the zenith.
Sahil Lama, a school student, one of the contestants, stated that he has conquered his fear of public appearances.
Similarly, a recovered drug addict, also a contestant, in an emotional interaction held that such platforms will not just encourage them bit also sharpen the goodness within.
