Govt notifies at par with Central Govt DA for State employees
Gangtok, 27 Aug:
As per a notification issued on 25 Aug, the State Government has decided,on the recommendation of the 5th Pay Committee,to provide Dearness Allowance to State Government employees at par with Central government as communicated by a circular issued by Finance, Revenue & Expenditure Department on 10 July 2018. Other allowances will be provided weffrom 01 Sept, 2018.
Sikkim Govt employees posted within the State of Sikkim, Darjeeling and Siliguri are eligible to get house rent as prE-revised pay rate of 12% of basic pay subject to a minimum of Rs. 3500 per month and government employees who are posted in Guwahati, Kolkata and New Delhi are eligible to house rent as per revised pay scale of 16 % subject to a minimum of Rs. 3500 per month.
However, those employees who have been provided Government accommodation are not eligible for house rent, the notification reads.
The government has also decided to provide Sikkim Border Compensatory Allowance at 8% of the revised pay to government employees posted in Sikkim.
Employees will be provided with High Altitude Allowance of Rs 2400 per month for Lachen,Lachung and other areas above 8000 ftand upto 12000 ft, and Rs 3000 per month for areas above 12000 ft altitude.
Similarly,Risk Allowance of Rs500 to Rs 800 per month will be provided to Safai karmachari, Group D employees working in infectious ward of the hospital other than ward attendants,Male & Female attendants, X-Ray & Pathology Technicians, Nursesworking in infectious wards, Dark Room attendants, Line-men of Energy &Power Department and Fire Service personnel upto the rank of Sub-Inspector.
Conveyance allowanceof Rs12000 per month will be provided to the officers of Joint Secretary and equivalent and above in lieu of official conveyance facility. For this,separate guidelines will be issued by the Finance, Revenue & Expenditure Department.
Officers who are not eligible for official conveyance facility will be provided transport allowance of Rs 1000 per month [Level 15-18 officers] and Rs 500 per month [Level 14 and below officers].
Similarly, Rs 20,000 will be provided to Police personnel as uniform allowance in initial period and their after Rs6000 as renewal grant after every three years. Ration allowance of Rs1000 will be provided to police personnel posted within the State and those whose are posted in New Delhi [IRBns] will get ration allowance at the rate of Rs 2000 per month, the notification states.
The notification further adds that the Non-Practicing Allowance will beprovided to those doctors working in the State Government with 12% of revised pay scale per month subject to the condition that they perform clinical duties and opt not to carry out private practice. On the same lines, the Veterinary Doctors will be provided Rs 2500 per month with same condition applied to other doctors.
However, the State Government has abolished Children Education Allowance to employees working outside the state as well as the Difficult Area Allowance.
