New EPCS church inaugurated at Saramsa


Gangtok, 02 Sept:

The newly constructed church of Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Sikkim [EPCS], Saramsa was inaugurated by Moderator of Council of Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Sikkim [CEPCS], Rev RO Malommu, here at Saramsa in East Sikkim today.

The inaugural function commenced with the opening prayer by Rev Bijay Chettri which was followed by dedication prayer and unlocking of the door by Moderator, Rev Molommu, in the presence of Pastors, Elders, leaders and members of EPCS churches from across the State.

The function was followed by church service which was conducted by Rev Shyam Subba wherein special songs and hymns were performed by EPCS youth groups and choir. The church souvenir was also released during the programme.

On the occasion, EPCS Saramsa church committee felicitated people who have supported and motivated in the church’s growth and in the construction during their hardship.

In his church construction report, Jeewan Kharel of EPCS Saramsa expressed his gratitude on behalf of the church to those who have supported in the completion of the construction. The church was established in the year 1985.

CEPCS secretary, Pemba Lepcha, appreciated the works carried out by the construction committee and their hardship which has resulted to the beautiful church. He also highlighted the works of the Council and motivated them to provide every possible help for the growth of smaller churches of EPCS located at different places of Sikkim.

The intercessory prayer was done by Rev Pemba Nuri Sherpa and the Word of God was shared by CEPCS Deputy Moderator, Rev Malaki Tamang. The service concluded with the presentation of the vote of thanks by Elder TL Tamang.

It is further informed that two CEPCS representatives, Milan Rai and Lawrence Lepcha, will be leaving for Kerala with relief materials on 03 Sept.
