Tadong School’s Pushpawati Guru Garima Award conferred on Sukmit Tasho


Gangtok, 06 Sept:

Senior teacher of Tadong Government Senior Secondary School, Sukmit Tasho, was conferred the Pushpawati Guru Garima Award 2018 at a felicitation and Teacher’s Day celebration programme held today at the school ground today. Ms Tasho is a senior Graduate Teacher [Biology] at Tadong SSS.

The Pushpawati Guru Garima Award is an annual award presented by Tadong SSS to its teachers in order to recognize and encourage them in the field of teaching and to respect their outstanding contributions to the school.

Introduced by Principal, Tadong SSS, Doma L Zimba, in the year 2014, the award is presented in memory of the founding headmistress of Tadong SSS, Pushpawati Chettri.

“The award is very special as it stands for respect and recognition of the contribution and outstanding efforts made by teachers towards the school and students,” said Ms Zimba.

Ms Zimba congratulated the recipient of the Guru Garima Award, Sukmit Tasho, and thanked her for her enormous and dedicated contribution towards the school and its students.

Tadong SSS, on the same occasion, also felicitated one of its teachers, Sushila Khawas, who was awarded with Distinguished Teacher Award 2018 by the ICFAI University, Sikkim on 05 Sept on the occasion of Teacher’s Day and the same was presented by Governor Ganga Prasad.

The Teacher’s Day function also featured a series of cultural performances presented by the students.
