SCA senior players to attend Vijay Hazare Trophy camp

Gangtok, 07 Sept:

A meeting cum short orientation programme was conducted by Sikkim Cricket Association today at Hotel SonamDelekin Gangtok for 25 selected senior men’s players and support staff who will be attending a weeklong camp scheduled to be held at Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology [KITT] Stadium in Bhubaneswar.

The meeting was presided over by SCA president,LobzangGTenzing, and general secretary, SonamPalden Bhutia, an SCA press release informs.

General secretary, SCA, Mr Bhutia gave briefing regarding the schedule of the camp, plan of travel and handed over air tickets to TopdenLepcha who has been appointed as the manager of the team.

President, SCA, MrTenzing shared his experience and extended best wishes to the outgoing team members.

It may be mentioned here, the 25 selected players and 02 support staff includingphysiotherapist and manager will be leaving from Gangtok for the camp on 09 Sept.

During the weeklong camp, 15 players will be selected out of the 25 players under the guidance of coach of the team,Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, who is a former Indian international cricketer and has been earlier appointed as the coach of the Sikkim men’s senior team by BCCI.

The selected 15 players plus 04 support staff will be heading towards Baroda to participate in the prestigious Vijay Hazare Trophy starting from 19 Sept, 2018.
