Sikkim stakeholders attend Ahmedabad’s largest Travel & Tourism Fair

Ahmedabad’s largest travel show, Travel & Tourism Fair [TTF], was held at the Gujarat University Exhibition Hall from 07-09 Sept. Travel & Tourism Industry stakeholders from 27 Indian States and from 21 countries converged at TTF Ahmedabad underlining the importance of Gujarat as the biggest source markets of domestic and international travellers. It is the largest in the 9-city TTF networks, having grown by 20 per cent consecutively over the last two years, a press release informs.

More than 661 exhibitors participated in the event, catering to the tourism industry in the region at a strategically important time that is, before the season of Dussehra and Diwali.

The opening day of the TTF was inaugurated by Chief Minister of Gujarat, Vijay Rupali.

“The TTF is being organized from 07-09 Sept at Ahmedabad and Surat. I am happy to know that TTF, with its profound presence, has emerged as a major platform to address tourism markets in major States,” said MrRupali.

Sikkim Tourism took up a stall measuring 9 square metres which featured its products and services to the visitors. Tourism stakeholders from Sikkim availed the opportunity to promote their respective businesses through the TTF.

Stakeholders from Sikkim at TTF includedVikKhurana [CEO, Gangtok Drift Hotel &Restobar], Mount Kabru Tours & Travels,Dzong Retreat & SPA, The SIMVO Residency,BhupendraGurung [Business Developer, Dzong Retreat], Sky World Tours & Travels, and Green woody camp.

Gujarat CM was accorded warm reception by Joint Director (I&P), Tourism & Civil Aviation Department,Madan Kumar Pradhan, at the Sikkim Tourism stall with offering of khadas and brochures.

The CM congratulated Sikkim on being declared the only organic State in India and appreciated the efforts of Sikkim’s Chief Minister in making Sikkim an ultimate tourism destination. The first day received around 6000 visitors in the stall of Sikkim Tourism. The final day witnessed overwhelming response from prospective tourists and is recorded to be over 15000, the release adds.

Some of the countries which participated in the TTF included Srilanka, Nepal, Bahrain, Korea, China, Bhutan, Azerbaijan, Germany, Indonesia, Japan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Maldives, Mauritius, Russia, Singapore, Thailand, UAE, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Vietnam.

Among the Indian States, Gujarat made a huge presence as a host State. Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Goa, Odisha, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Rajasthan participated as partner States while West Bengal, Jammu & Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Andaman & Nicobar and Meghalaya were the feature States.

A large number of hotels and resorts, travel agents and tour operators, airlines, cruise lines, railways Online Travel Agents, destination management companies, transport operators and travel technology providers among others also participated in the show.

The first two days of the show were reserved for the travel trade while the last day of the show remained open for all.

The TTF Ahmedabad has provided best platform for travel networking and business transactions between tourism industry stakeholders and the travel trade from the region. The general visitors and prospective tourists on the last day got ample opportunity to check out the thousands of destinations and options and got the best deals in package tours, accommodation and more to plan and book their next vacations.
