Beauty Queen Peden Ongmu mentors Manhunt contestants

Gangtok, 15 Sep:

Miss India Supranational 2018, Peden Ongmu Namgyal, was here at Temi Tea Mr Sikkim 2018 Manhunt to mentor and orient the 22 finalists at Hotel Denzong Shangrila on Saturday.

She shared her experience of the glam world with the contestants and also gave them helpful tips to grow in the journey of the competition.

The contestants also asked several questions about her journey and sought advice and suggestions on various aspects of modelling.

Ms Namgyal stressed on the need to be a happy person and have a very positive outlook towards life even through struggle.

Terming herself as “happy go lucky” person, she asked the contestants to remain grounded and move forward with a zeal to learn and grow.

Speaking about her journey from Miss Sikkim to Miss India, the beauty queen shared that the mental growth has been tremendous especially since going to Mumbai and participating in various national and international competitions.

"You'll have to have fire and be hungry for your dreams," she stressed.

She advised the contestants to chart their respective journeys with an open mind and learn while enjoying the moment.

One of the tips she gave to contestants to overcome stage fright was to learn and help each other make videos on mobile phones and rewatch it for improvisation.

Mridula Moktan, Peden’s mother, expressed happiness on her daughter's achievements and stressed that family support was key to success in the glamour industry.

Bare body photo shoot was also held today exploring many aspects of modelling and photography.

Photographer Jonah Gurung, stating that all the finalists were getting into the mood and environment of being in a manhunt, added that all have been very cooperative and wished them luck for the future.

Ms Namgyal also instructed the contestants on ramp walk and other aspects of modelling.

She further stated that punctuality was a key factor in the glamour industry where time was money.

Wishing the finalists luck, the Sikkimese beauty queen stressed on opening one’s mind to newer opportunities and exploring life in totality.

The Temi Tea Mr Sikkim 2018 Manhunt is being organised jointly by GBT Entertainment, Sikkim Chronicle and The Accelerator.
