Husband-wife duo Poojan & Anupama on their musical journey

Husband-wife duo from Jorethang, South Sikkim, Poojan Lohagan and Anupama Pradhan, have been pursuing music and have steadily rose as successful artists in their own rights.
Born to Dhurba Lohagan and Bal Kumari Lohagan, Poojan Lohagan married Anupama Pradhan in 2014. Poojan has been actively working in music dedicatedly with some of his music related details including his first recording “Natak Aandhi Aaye Pachhi” and “Aafnai Sabda Sangeetma Dui Wata Geet” recorded at Ears Studio in Darjeeling.
In his debut solo album, “Ninaad” , Poojan sang compositions of Rajen Ghimirey, Madhav Ghimirey, Shanti Thatal, MB Gazmer, Ram Bista , Nhyoo Bajracharya, Sachin Singh , Biswaz Gurung and Pushkar Parajul.
His long list of credits also include composed songs for Gyan Subba, Banika Pradhan, Anupama Pradhan, Nikhita Thapa, Biswa Nepali, Sunita Thegim, Tayahangma Rai, Pranoy Lama, Manoj Rai, Binay Lama, Suman Ghimirey and Sharada Gurung.
Many artists including Kamal Regmi, Pavitra Lama, Rabin Bantawa Khahong Rai, Manu Kandangwa, Parajit Pomu, Pratik Chamling, Tayahangma Rai, Chewang Lama and Hem Kumar Lawat have sung songs written by this creative genius.
Teaming up with his wife Anupama in the year 2016, he recorded their first solo number “Farkiyen Feri Ma Jiwna” which was followed by their second music video “Haawa Gharaima” .
He now eagerly awaits their upcoming video “Mann ko Saathi”.
Poojan’s better half, Anupama is a lecturer of English Literature at Darjeeling Government College. Born to parents Devilal Pradhan and Radhika Pradhan at Singbulli Tea Estate in Mirik, Darjeeling, Anupama was inspired by her mother to start singing at the mere age of eight years with a folk song written and composed by her own mother.
Her singing career accelerated when she won Nepal Television’s reality show, “Timro Sur Mero Geet” in Nepal in 2001.
In the year 2006, she acquired the title of “Sarvashrestha Pop Gayika” at Swarshree 2006 singing contest. She later went on to book a berth as the top-5 finalists in most popular event “Himalayan Idol” presented by SK Audio Vision.
Starting her studio recording in 2008, Anupama has given voice for more than 200 songs and has playback records in Nepali, Hindi, Sadari, Bhojpuri and Surjapuri films.
The most remarkable event of her musical career was when she released her debut solo album “Dakshina” under the production of Rhythm Music, Darjeeling in the year 2011 which established her in the entire Nepali music fraternity.
The husband-wife duo is currently in a joint musical venture and their album “Mannko Saathi” is soon to be release.
