SKM coordination meeting at Lal Bazaar

Gangtok, 24 Sept:

A coordination meeting of Sikkim Krantikari Morcha was held here at Lal Bazaar on Monday with the party president, PS Tamang [Golay], as the chief guest. He was accompanied by acting president, Kunga Nima Lepcha, chief coordinator Sonam Lama, working presidents MP Subba and Nawin Karki and other leaders and workers of the party.

An SKM press release informs that retired Principal, Chung Keepu Lepcha, and former panchayat of SDF party, Sam Tshering Lepcha from North Sikkim along with 219 families from Dzongu constituency, 45 families from Lachen-Mangan, seven families from Shyari and two families from Arithang joined SKM during the meeting.

The release states that the party president informed that online registration for health insurance was underway and urged people not to get confused as it did not require any reference from MLAs or Ministers.

He stated that as per a DESME report, the BPL rate in Sikkim was just 8.19% and due to the same only 10,000 people would be able to enjoy benefits of this service. He alleged that the poor of the State have been suffering due to wrong data of the government.

Mr Tamang stated that after forming the government, SKM will declare North District as a special district to address the ignoring of the district by the present government.

He also lashed out at the State government on other issues of the State, the release informs. The the meeting was also addressed by other leaders of the party.
