When the district administration arrives at your doorstep


Gyalshing, 29 Sept (IPR): Under the “District Administration at the Doorstep” programme initiated by the DC, West, a team visited the remotest and more inaccessible parts of the West District on Saturday.

Accompanied by MLA Sonam Dadul and SDM-Yuksam, BDO Chongrang, the officials of the District Administration Center and line departments, the program was aimed to “reach the unreached” and address the public’s grievances at their own neighbourhoods.

The areas covered during the one-day intensive tour were Khongri, Labdang, Yangtham, Dhupidara, Narkhola, Phokri, Karjee and Mangnam.

The DC and MLA along with the DPO (Disaster Management) also handed over cheques to families whose properties were damaged by natural calamities.

The DC visited Tashiding GPU and granted Rs 75,000 from DLRC in convergence with MGNREGA and Panchayat fund for proper drainage construction.

Under the “Land Bank” policy of the Government, a total of eight beneficiaries were provided land ownership at the Tashiding GPK by the MLA, DC and other officials.

Similarly, ex-gratia was also handed over to the affected public of Tashiding GPU area.

The tour was fruitful as the public who presented their problems of destruction of property and houses caused by the consistent rainfall were handed over cheques by the competent authority headed by the DC.

Inspections of similar regions and landslides were done by the team at various places.

The DC also visited GPUs, schools, ICDS, PHSC and extended relief fund to the needy during the program.
