Group urges Govt to ignore viva and appoint all nurses who passed written exam

Gangtok, 03 Oct:

A group of nurses have once again urged the State Government to absorb all candidates, including those who did not clear the recent interview process conducted by SPSC, as staff nurses in the State Government.

These nurses are currently working in private hospitals within and outside the State and had passed the written examination for staff nurses but could not get through in the viva.

Addressing a press conference today, they stated that around 300 candidates failed to make the cut after the viva.

On the same, they requested the Chief Minister to absorb all candidates who passed the written examinations. They urged the government to absorb them as well like it had taken in all candidates who passed the written examination for police constables.

It is informed that they have been trying to meet the CM for the past one month, but have remained unable to do so due to his very busy schedule.

However, they inform that they have met the Secretary and other officials of the department with their issue but have not received positive assurances thus far.

“We are very hopeful that the CM will take a decision in the interest of nurses from Sikkim. We also want to serve the people of Sikkim by living in our own home State,” they state.
