Sikkim Cricket Association [SCA] has signed three professional cricketers for upcoming Ranji Trophy 2018-19 on 18 Oct at Siliguri in West Bengal. Bipul Sharma, IshwarChaudhary and Milind Kumar have been signed for Sikkim to play in Ranji Trophy.
An SCA press release issued today informs that the Special General Meeting of the association held on 11 Oct in Gangtok had decided that as per the Board of Control for Cricket in India [BCCI] norms, SCA will include professional players in the team.
Bipul Sharma of Punjab is a left hand all-rounder who bowls slow left-arm orthodox and has played for India-A, North Zone, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh Lions, Kings XI Punjab. He was part of Sunrisers Hyderabad squad in Indian Premier League 2018 and Mohammedan Sporting Club squad in Dhaka Premier League 2018. He has been playing professional cricket since 2004.
IshwarChaudhary of Gujarat is a right arm medium fast bowler and has played for India U19, West Zone, Gujarat, National Academy of India, Australian Centre of Excellence, and Kolkata Knight Riders. He has been playing for Gujarat since 2007.
Milind Kumar of Delhi is a right-hand batsman and an occasional off-break bowler. He has been playing for Delhi since 2010 and was part of Delhi Daredevils squad at the Indian Premier League 2018.
President, SCA,Lobzang G Tenzing, expressed that experienced guest players were expected to mentor and guide talented Sikkimese cricketers to the highest level of cricket in India. He expressed his best wishes to the State team for the upcoming camp and Ranji Trophy season.
