Cultural Affairs Minister conducts final inspection
Gyalshing, 24 Oct [IPR]:The final joint inspection/ coordination meeting regarding the inauguration of Chenrizig Singkham Riwo Potala at Pelling in West Sikkim, which is set to be inaugurated on 01 Nov, was held today at the project site by Minister for Cultural Affairs & Heritage and Roads & Bridges, GM Gurung, accompanied by Member of Legislative Assembly,Chandra Maya Subba, Chief Administrator,Rinchen Ongmu,Additional District Collector, Gyalshing,Karma Lodey Lepcha, Sub Divisional Police Officer,Manish Kumar Verma, and other officials of different line departments.
Mr Gurung inspected the project site extensively along with the officials and asked them to give their best prior to the inauguration programme. He reminded all the line department officials that the project was of great value and hence the inaugural will be historical for Sikkim and as such needs to be planned and executed in a proper manner.
“The once thought impossible task is nearing its completion phase hence everything needs to be prim and proper prior to the scheduled opening by the Chief Minister,” said Mr Gurung.
He further instructed the Police and the District Administration to chalk out the roles which needs to be given to the respective departments during the inaugural ceremony.
The Minister thanked the CM for making the State an abode of peace where all religions and cultures have learnt to live in harmony. He also congratulated the CM on his recent accolade received from the United Nations in Rome.
Chief Administrator, Ms Ongmu, advised the district officials to work in cooperation amongst themselves for the inaugural function which is scheduled to be held on 01 Nov.
