SMU Asst Prof to be awarded PhD at next convocation

Gangtok, 24 Oct:

Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacology, Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College [Jamshedpur],Deepanjana Dass, successfully defended her Ph.D. thesis on 15 Oct under the guidance of head of Department of Medicine, Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences [SMIMS] & Central Referral Hospital [CRH], Professor [Dr]Bidita Khandelwal, and Scientist “E” [Deputy Director-Medical], Regional Occupational Health Centre [ROHC-Eastern], National Institute of Occupational Health [NIOH], Indian Council of Medical Research [ICMR], Kolkata,Amit Chakrabarti.

A press release issued by Sikkim Manipal University informs that MsDass’s Ph.D. research topic was “Prevalence and predictors of analgesic misuse: A controlled cross-sectional study among urban young adults of East Sikkim, North East India”. She has been recommended for award of degree by the Board of Examiners of SMU.

The Doctor of Philosophy will be awarded to her during the forthcoming Convocation SMU.
