Hailing from Mamring, South Sikkim, 31-year-old photographer PokhrajRai has been making a mark with his well composed pictures.
PokhrajRai is a professional photographer who mostly covers the programmes of Chief Minister PawanChamling. He also contributes to a social media news page and a news channel.
Speaking to SummitTimes, Mr.Rai shared some details about his journey into photography.
“Photography is something that is defined in a number of ways, according to me photography is truly an art of observation, photography allows us to capture the memorable moments of life. Since school days, I was extremely enthusiastic towards photography. I used to capture the moments wherever I used to go. However, being a photographer isn't an easy job as we have to sometimes even forego meals just to get the perfect piece of picture,” he said.
Mr Rai says he was sent to Kolkata Images Redefined Photography Institute in 2016 by the Chief Minister where he learnt photography for two years.
“I took extensive classes in photography and got a diploma in photography in 2016,” he adds.
The photographer plans to get into the printing business in the near future.
