Governor takes his maiden flight from Kolkata to Pakyong Airport

Gangtok, 29 Oct:

Governor Ganga Prasad today took a flight from Kolkata to Pakyong Greenfield Airport in East Sikkim on his return from New Delhi.

This was the Governor’s first flighton this new service which landed at 10.45 AM this morning.

He was given warm reception by Airport Director, R Manjunatha, and other airport officials besides officials from district administration after landing at Pakyong Airport, a press communiqué received from Raj Bhavan informs.

Expressing delight on having taken his first flight to Pakyong, the Governor said that the newly commissioned airport is going to open a new vista of opportunities for Sikkimese especially in the trade, tourism and hospitality sectors in the days to come.

He urged the airport authorities to work towards ensuring uninterrupted air connectivity to the routes operational from Pakyong so that every section of Sikkimese people gets benefitted.
