Former Forest Dept official accuses Govt of harassment, joins SKM

ACF [Forest Department], Karma Loday Bhutia, who took voluntarily retirement on Wednesday, hasjoined Sikkim KrantikariMorcha. He has accused the government of unnecessary harassment during the last six yearsof his career.
He alleged that the State Government tried to frame him in a disproportionate assets case andlater on with disciplinary action with malafide intention. However, the court gave him a clean chit as the authorities failed to find anything against him.
He had applied for voluntarily retirement on 01 Aug earlier thisyear and received the confirmation order on 13Oct. However, his notice period was till 31 Oct.
Sincere government employees are being harassed for no reasonand corrupt officials are kept on important positions, he said further alleging that the attitude of thegovernment itself is wrong and corrupt.
Speaking toSummitTimes, he said that he will joinelectoral politics choosing SikkimKrantikariMorcha as his platform. He said that the State Government has zero respect for sincere officials, sportspersons and artists.
Mr Bhutia had earlier applied for voluntary retirement in 2012 and just nine days before his notice period was to end, he was arrested and tried in adisproportionate assets case.
The Lokayukta and the trial court have not found me guiltyand given a clean chit, he stated further adding that disciplinary action taken against him was also wrong.
