NHPC conducts free medical camp in Ralap

Under its CSR-SD initiative, NHPC Limited, Teesta-V Power Station conducted a free medical camp cum awareness campaign at Government Secondary School, Ralap inEast Sikkim on 31 Oct, a press release informs.
The camp was inaugurated by Chief Engineer In-charge, Teesta V PS,SahadevKhatua, in the presence of Upadhyaksha, ZilaParishad, East Sikkim, SharmilaChettri, president, Ladies Welfare Association, Teesta-V PS,NibeditaKhatua, and Chief Medical Officer, Teesta-V PS,Dr LB Singh.
Addressing the gathering, MrKhatua highlighted various CSR-SD initiatives of the NHPC in the vicinity of the power station and assured that many more such social welfare programmes will be taken up in the future.
A counseling session was also conducted wherein Deputy CMO, Teesta V PS, DrShatrupa Bhattacharya, delivered health talk to students and local villagers.
During the camp, the medical team from NHPC comprising of four doctors and ten paramedical staff examined the patients for various ailments related to hypertension, diabetes, cardiac, etc. and prescribed suitable medicines.
Free medicines were also distributed to the patients who were advised to visit NHPC Hospital inBalutar for further consultation, if any.
Panchayat members and the local people appreciated the efforts of the NHPC Management and doctors for organizing such public welfare camps in the State.
