Soreng Sr Sec celebrates 75th anniv, CM presents felicitation to founder’s kin
Soreng, 02 Nov [IPR]: Chief Minister Pawan Chamling attended the 75th anniversary of Soreng Senior Secondary School in West Sikkim along with Minister of Human Resource Development Department, RB Subba, Minister of Urban Development & Housing Department, NK Subba, Health Minister, AK Ghatani, and other dignitaries.
Addressing the gathering, the CM congratulated the founders of the school for their work and their vision of providing education since the 1940s. He thanked them for their selfless sacrifice for the welfare of the public of Soreng when they dreamt of starting a school.
“People are always known for their works. Such humanitarian work by the founders has made them immortal in the place. Works of such men should pose as a deed of encouragement for the people especially the youths of Sikkim. State Government has always worked keeping in mind the Sikkimese people,” the CM said.
Addressing the students, the CM stated that because of free education, students now need to make full use of these facilities and opportunities. He added that the State has worked for quality education and will continue to work progressively towards life oriented education which willimprove the future of Sikkimese students.
“Countless failures should not limit you from achieving your goals. My life struggles should also be a lesson to dream big and achieve your dreams,” expressed the CM.
Soreng SSS also felicitated the founders’ kin, former teachers, alumni and teachers, which were presented by the CM.
