Temi Tea Estate becomes Sikkim’s first Food Safety Supervisor

Gangtok, 21 Nov:

Temi Tea Estate, South Sikkim conducted training for its staff and other food business stakeholders on Food Safety, Training and Certification [FoSTaC] under Food Safety Standard Act 2006 at Temi in South Sikkim today.With this, TemiTea Estate becomes first in the State to qualify as Food Safety Supervisor.

A total of 40 candidates including representatives of various homestays, local restaurants and food business operators from Temi, Tarku, Singtam and Bermiok participated in the programme.

The training had resource persons from leading food certification body under FSSAI, OneCert International Private Limited, Jaipur.

During the programme, the resource persons highlighted good hygiene &manufacturing practices,food safety management plan and seven principles of hazard analysis & critical control points.
