Gangtok, 28 Nov:
Sikkim Krantikari Morcha today countered Chief Minister Pawan Chamling’s recent contention that if those in the Opposition were to be voted into office, they would sell Sikkim’s assets within six months. Addressing a press conference here today, the SKM spokesperson, Jacob Khaling, countered that such comments were unfortunate “since Sikkim’s resources – economic and natural” had instead already been auctioned away in the 24 years of Chamling Government in Sikkim.
“Instead of accepting the fact that he himself has auctioned the entire state away, to hide his guilty conscious, he is instead accusing the Opposition of harbouring such plans,” Mr Khamling said.
Sikkim Krantikari Morcha will rescue Sikkim from this desperate situation, Mr Khaling said.
He also stressed that Sikkim was thirsting for change to “save democracy” from the one-man-show which is SDF has foisted on the people.
