HSP delegation calls on Union Tribal Affairs Minister, place LT seat demand
GANGTOK, 30 NOV:
A delegation of Hamro Sikkim Party (HSP) on Friday called on Union Tribal Affairs Minister, Jual Oram at New Delhi. The HSP delegation had HSP office-bearers Bhaichung Bhutia, Dr. Bina Basnett, D.S. Limboo and Biraj Adhikari.
Bhaichung Bhutia informed that the HSP team submitted the demand of Limboo-Tamang Assembly seats to the Union Minister and urged the Centre to place the bill regarding LT seats in the coming winter session of the Parliament.
“The meeting was fruitful and we informed the minister on various issues of Sikkim,” he said.
Meanwhile, the party has also condemned the statement of Sikkim Democratic Front spokesperson, Bhim Dahal claiming that the SDF government has already removed the tag of immigrants from Sikkimese Nepalese. The party has argued that the statement is false.
An HSP press release states that SDF formed the government in 1994 with the promise to remove the tag of immigrants but soon forgot about this issue in its 1999 election manifesto.
On the same, the party has said that excluding it from the manifesto does not mean that the immigrant tag has been removed.
The release further states that the HSP hopes to give a good fight to the ruling party by bringing all opposition parties together.
