HSP celebrates ECI registration

Gangtok, 04 Dec:

Hamro Sikkim Party [HSP] has been granted registration by the Election Commission of India. The ECI has written to HSP confirming that the party is now a registered political party under Section 29A of the Representation of the People Act 1951, with effect from 15.11.2018.

“Today is a historic day for HSP as the party has been registered by the ECI,” said HSP vice president, RB Subba, to reporters at the HSP head office here at Deorali.

HSP members distributed sweets to celebrate the ECI registration.

Party vice president, Bhaichung Bhutia, Dr Bina Basnet and other office-bearers were also present.

To a question, Mr Subba said that the party has not appointed any party president so far.

The party president will be announced much ahead of the upcoming election, he added. “We have seven vice presidents who coordinate and run the party,” he said.

The HSP was formed on 31 May at Daramdin in West Sikkim.
